UCS Healthcare Announces Move to West Des Moines

To all of our valued patients and partners:
We have exciting news! The UCS Healthcare location at 4908 Franklin Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa, is relocating to 1300 Woodland Avenue in West Des Moines, Iowa. This new location provides more office, therapy and exam spaces and allows UCS to expand our service offerings. There will be twice as many parking spaces, more restrooms, more group rooms, and a convenient separate entrance for medication assisted treatment dosing.
Our last day of service at the current location, 4908 Franklin Avenue, will be Saturday, September 12. We will close at 2:00 p.m.
On Monday, September 14, at 6:00 a.m. we will open at the new location at 1300 Woodland Avenue, in West Des Moines, Iowa.
All of us will be there to help you navigate the new building. Office and dosing hours will remain the same as they are today. All you need to do is navigate to the new location.
We will continue to hold individual and group therapy and conduct medical appointments via Zoom if possible. The COVID-19 pandemic is being evaluated by UCS staff daily so that informed decisions can be made in regards to health and safety of staff and patients. At this time, no in-person groups are scheduled.

Will patient costs for services increase due to financing this new building?
Cost for services will not increase due to the purchase of the new building.
How can UCS Healthcare afford to make this move especially during the pandemic?
The building was purchased in April 2019. A lease back to the previous owners occurred for several months and then remodeling begin in November. UCS is financially healthy and has been able to continue paying contractor and mortgage payments in full and on time. Money saved for the purchase and remodel of the new building have not been needed to cover losses that occurred due to the pandemic.
What bus number do I use to get there? And can we get schedules from DART beforehand?
The closest bus stops are 11TH ST / COUNTRY CLUB VILLAGE APTS, WDM, Stop ID 366 and 11TH ST / #1205 (CAMBRIDGE COURT APTS), WDM, Stop ID 365.

About one block, 0.2 miles
How far is the new building from the current?
Approximately 3.8 miles
Are there more restrooms?
Yes, three gender-neutral, public restrooms; plus one in the family practice area; and one UA collection room in the MAT area.
Is the parking lot bigger?
Yes, it has approximately 126 parking spots available almost twice as many as our Franklin location.
Will I be made aware of the move date beforehand so I can get my cab set up through my insurance?
Yes, the new office at 1300 Woodland, West Des Moines will be open on 9/14/2020 at 6 am. The office at 4908 Franklin Ave will be closed on 9/12/2020 at 2 pm.
