2020 UCS Healthcare Virtual Pride Week July 17 - 24

COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the annual Capital City Pride Festival. We love this event and enjoy connecting with our LGBTQIA+ patients and community members. So we decided to rally and engage with everyone and answer your healthcare questions on line as well as conducting some training internally. Here's a lineup of our activities for the week:

Friday, July 17 - Wear your Pride Day! Our team members are wearing their company tshirts to work, check out our Facebook photo album and social media channels.

Monday, July 20 - 5 years of Pride - a look back at our booth and parade presence at Pride Festival. Click here to view.

Tuesday, July 21 - Jen Pearson, CEO of UCS Healthcare, answers general questions about UCS Healthcare, insurance and billing. Click here to hear Jen talk about how we work with patients to afford healthcare.

Wednesday, July 22 – Our counselors and therapists answer frequently asked questions about Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health specific to the LGBTQIA+ community. Click below to watch!

Thursday, July 23 – Watch our social channels and website for our medical providers answering a few commonly asked medical questions specific to the LGBTQ+ community.

• TJ Guthrie answers several questions relating to LGBTQIA+ Healthcare including: What is PrEP and who should use it? What should I know about HRT? What other medical services does UCS Healthcare offer?
• Rachel Kroeger, psychiatric nurse practitioner, answers a question about medication side effects.
